Get started

Punchline Analytics shows how much of your site's traffic is people, how much is AI agents and crawlers, and which agents they are, with the evidence for every label. It needs no cookies.

1. Pick an install

Your site runs on Install What it sees
Next.js (Vercel or anywhere) Next.js package: a three-line file Every request, including agents that never run JavaScript
Static, Vite or Astro sites on Vercel Vercel middleware: one file Every request, including agents that never run JavaScript
Webflow, Framer, Shopify, WordPress, anything behind Cloudflare Cloudflare Worker Every request, plus whether each agent actually got the page
Squarespace, Wix, other hosted builders Browser snippet: one line of HTML Visitors that run JavaScript only (labelled as a browser-only view)

You can combine an edge install (Next.js or Cloudflare) with the snippet: page loads aren't counted twice.

2. Check it's working

Visit a few pages of your site, then open the dashboard. Reports refresh every 10 minutes. If nothing arrives, see the troubleshooting section of your install guide.

3. Read your first report

  • Overview: sessions split into people, people sent by AI assistants, agents and crawlers, and sessions by channel.
  • Agents by operator: who runs the agents (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, …), with each session's request timeline and the rules that labelled it.
  • Agent content: what agents read, whether they got it, and whether assistants then sent people. See Agent content.

Every agent label has a confidence tier. Use the Agent labels filter to choose between confirmed only, confirmed + likely and everything. See Concepts.

4. Query it from anywhere

The same numbers are available through the API and to AI assistants through MCP. Create a key in Site settings → API and AI access.

A first query:

{
  "date_range": { "from": "2026-09-01", "to": "2026-09-30" },
  "metrics": ["sessions", "agent_share"],
  "dimensions": ["day"]
}
